|
History of Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) : Manipur State Rural Roads Development Agency (MSRRDA) was set up in the year 2004-05 under registration no. 124/M/SR/2004 dt.10/03/2005 to implement Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) which includes Bharat Nirman (BN) and Border Area Development Programme (BADP) in Manipur State. Presently 11 (eleven) dedicated working divisions (PIUs) from PWD, IFCD and Electricity Department, Manipur are under the administrative control of MSRRDA for implementation of PMGSY. Now MSRRDA is the Sole Agency to implement PMGSY works having Administrative Control over the PIUs.
The Road Agency is headed by Chairman, MSRRDA (Minister, RD) assisted by the Administrative Additional C.S./Com./Secy. of R.D. Department, Govt. of Manipur. The Chairman, MSRRDA is also assisted by one Chief Engineer/ State Quality Co-ordinator, one Superintending Engineer/ Empowered Officer, one Financial Controller and a number of Engineers at Road Agency level.
Programme Implementation Unit (PIU): Each Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) is headed by an Executive Engineer assisted by 3 (three) or more Assistant Engineers, 9 (nine) or more Junior Engineers and adequate support staff. |
